Connecting Creativity: From Paint to Music
Hello everyone!
Lately, I've been rediscovering the joy of learning to paint. Experimenting on 6" x 9" paper has been a transformative experience—it forces me to rethink composition and detail while inviting an element of spontaneity into every stroke. This size gives each piece its unique personality, and I’m loving the challenge of adapting my techniques to fit these intimate canvases.
My creative style has evolved into two delightful realms. On one hand, I’m pouring my heart into abstract landscapes filled with vibrant textures and moods. On the other, I find endless fun in crafting whimsical, cartoonish abstracts of people and animals. These playful pieces remind me that art is not just about precision; it’s about embracing the unexpected and finding joy in each line and color.
I’m thrilled to share that my work is now finding a home in collections from coast to coast. From New York, Connecticut, Texas, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Utah, Florida, California, Washington, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Georgia, to Tennessee—the fact that my paintings have made their way into so many diverse households fills me with gratitude. A great big thank you goes out to all my collectors and clients. Your support validates my work in ways words cannot capture. I know my art isn’t for everyone, but for those who connect with it, thank you for encouraging me to keep pushing creative boundaries.
Alongside my painting adventures, I have some exciting news on the horizon! I’m heading to California soon for a reunion of musical friends in Boulder Creek on June 7th, from 5pm to 7pm. This gathering is a chance to reconnect with fellow musicians and soak in the creative energy that only live, shared music can bring. Following the meetup, I’ll be immersing myself in the California Bluegrass Festival. I’m eagerly anticipating opportunities to jam, record, and watch my Bluegrass heroes—Laurie Lewis, AJ Lee, and the Crying Uncles—on stage. As a fiddler, this is pure magic for me.
And there’s more: I’m planning on recording my book, *The Artist’s Family*. My vision is to produce this work both as CDs and as an audio file, so whether you prefer the physical medium or the ease of listening, you’ll be able to experience my story in the format that speaks to you most.
Every brushstroke, every note, and every word on this journey brings us closer together. Thank you for your continued support, inspiration, and belief in my work. I can’t wait to share more of these creative adventures with you as they unfold!
With heartfelt creativity,
Elicia Burton
